      The Sirindhorn International Environmental Park
 
On March 21st, 2013, the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, arranged a field trip for the participants of the
Overseas Internship Course @ MUSC-2013 to the Royal Chitralada Palace, which aimed to honouring His
Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej for his initiative projects at Royal Chitralada Palace as his great
compassion and dedication to helping Thai people by contribution of each successful knowhow and knowledge
for improvement local community in various aspects as agriculture, environment, energy, quality of life, etc. To
certainly concrete the views of how Self Sufficiency Economy Philosophy can be applied successfully to the
rural development and for country’s well-being, this course covered the activity of “Learning by Doing”
experiences for overseas student. The participants were enjoyed visiting the projects and had experienced
making the mulberry paper inside the palace.
 
In addition, the program has encouraged share visions among students and faculties with the local community
about the significant of the global agricultural development, food security and environmental sustainability.
Therefore, later on March 22-23rd, 2013, the overseas participants and other foreign students went to field trip at
Chang Hua Mun project at Phetchaburi province to study about the Royal Project there. At the Sirindhorn
International Environmental Park, Cha-Am district, the participants enjoy their social responsibility activity on
mangrove reforestation.
